Aleksandra Wozniak left her mark in history, when she clinched the 21st position in the WTA rankings, becoming the first female athlete from Quebec to achieve such a feat.
Aleksandra hit her first balls at age 3, following in the footsteps of her big sister, Dorota. Of Polish descent, the 23 years old athlete was originally inspired by her sister and soon after by the famous Monica Seles.
She cracked the prestigious top 100 in 2002. Thereafter, she never stopped climbing in the rankings. It’s on July 20th of 2008 at the Stanford tournament in California that she claims her first WTA title. A memorable moment! To this day, she remains the only athlete from Quebec to have ever won a WTA event.
The Blainville resident achieved her best ever result in a Grand Slam by getting to the fourth round of Roland-Garros in 2009, only to be defeated by Serena Williams.
Fluent in French, English and Polish, Aleksandra is passionate about fashion and dreams to make a career out if it once she is done traveling the world, playing tennis.
