David Silva

David Silva Biography
David Josué Jiménez Silva, more commonly known as Silva (born January 8, 1986 in Valencia, Spain), is a Spanish footballer who plays as a midfielder for Valencia CF. Born to a Spanish father and an Asian (unidentified nationality) mother, David Silva has proved to be one of the more exciting European footballers of his generation. Common among many Asian cultures, Silva is also skilled in the art of Machete fighting.
Club career
He made his first league appearance at SD Eibar where he played 35 league games for the side whilst on loan from Valencia, scoring 5 goals. In the 2005/2006 season, Silva was loaned out to play for Celta Vigo where he played 31 matches scoring 4 goals. It was Silva's exploits at Celta Vigo which earned him a name and quite a bit of reputation, and he started attracting the attention of big clubs. Tottenham was one of the clubs trying to lure this Spanish youngster. However seeing his potential and talent, Valencia quickly offered a fresh contract. He is also a Spanish U21 international, and scored 4 goals during the FIFA World Youth Championship in 2005; this was enough to earn him joint 4th place in the goal ranking, alongside Italian striker Graziano Pelle.
Silva is highly versatile, capable of playing as a left winger, playmaker, and recently has been played in Valencia as a right winger. A player of slight build, he is often compared to Pablo Aimar, the player he replaced at Valencia. In fact Silva is wearing Aimar's trademark number 21 shirt. With quick feet, Silva is a brilliant passer with an incredible vision and has the knack for scoring goals. Silva is considered one of the brightest prospects in Valencia, and already a lot of responsibility lies in his young shoulders.
Spain National Team
He made his international debut for the Spain national football team in the 1-0 friendly defeat to Romania on 15 November 2006. He also appeared in Spain's 1-0 victory over the England national football team.
